CONNECTOR OVERVIEW

## Connector overview

Cyclr’s Notion connector uses Notion’s REST API so product teams can read and write pages, query databases, subscribe to webhooks and orchestrate multi-step workflows. Build in-app integrations, expose supported methods as governed MCP tools, and publish white-label automations for end users without building an internal integration platform.

### Why use Cyclr?

Cyclr gives product teams a low-code integration builder, multi-tenant orchestration and governance for MCP tools. Ship and manage in-app Notion integrations faster, handle token lifecycle and publish integrations in an embedded marketplace with centralized monitoring and access controls.

PRODUCT USE CASES

## Top Use Cases for Notion Integrations

Quickly build practical integrations like task syncs, embedded docs, webhook-triggered automations and data exports. Publish these as white-label in-app integrations or governed MCP tools for customers.

### Two-way task sync

Sync tasks and status between your app and Notion databases so users keep a single source of truth.

### Embed Notion docs

Surface read-only Notion pages inside your product as contextual help, onboarding guides or knowledge bases.

### Trigger workflows from Notion

Use Notion webhooks to trigger in-app automations like notifications, ticket creation or data enrichment.

ORCHESTRATION

## How Notion works with Cyclr

Cyclr sits between your SaaS product and Notion to handle authentication, govern access and orchestrate every API call per customer, at scale.

 1. 1
 ### Your SaaS product
Your app requests an action for a specific customer.
 2. 2
 ### Cyclr orchestration
Cyclr authenticates, applies policies and routes the request.
 3. 3
 ### Notion
Notion processes the request and returns a response to your app.

Customer-specific authentication · Governed data movement · Centralized visibility and audit

### Pagination and rate limits

#### Pagination

Cursor-based pagination using start_cursor/next_cursor and has_more; page_size up to 100 items per request.

#### Rate limits

Notion enforces request limits — average 3 requests per second per connection. 429 responses include a Retry-After header; implement backoff.

IMPLEMENTATION

## Authentication at a glance

Supports OAuth 2.0 public connections, internal installation access tokens and personal access tokens. OAuth token exchange and refresh use HTTP Basic auth at /v1/oauth/token; include Bearer Authorization and Notion-Version headers for API requests.

Authentication methodOAuth 2.0, installation access tokens, personal access tokensCredential required

OAuth client_id and client_secret; installation access token or personal access token; webhook verification token.

 **Before you begin:**

Pages must be shared with the connection; webhook endpoints must be public HTTPS URLs.

COMMON QUESTIONS

## Frequently asked questions

What authentication options does the Notion connector support? *↓*

Notion supports OAuth 2.0 public connections, internal installation access tokens and personal access tokens. OAuth exchanges and refreshes use HTTP Basic auth at /v1/oauth/token.

Do I need to share pages with the connection? *↓*

Yes. A Notion connection only has access to pages or databases explicitly shared with it. Unshared pages return authorization errors.

Can I react to changes in Notion without polling? *↓*

Yes. Notion supports webhook subscriptions for pages, databases, comments, file uploads and views; verify using the provided verification token and HMAC signature.

How should I handle pagination and rate limits? *↓*

Use cursor-based pagination (start_cursor/next_cursor and has_more) with page_size up to 100. Respect Notion’s average 3 requests per second per connection and implement exponential backoff on 429.
