Where We Work
The Cyclr team are predominantly based across the South East of England and Canada, with access to offices in Brighton, East Croydon and Toronto.

DevOps Engineer - Canada ↓
Toronto, Canada
Full Time Role
We are seeking a talented and proactive individual with a strong background in DevOps. This role is predominantly office based in downtown Toronto.
You will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining and improving our cloud hosting services. The role would suit a strong communicator who has a high level of technical experience, is highly methodical, organised and a good communicator.

Cyclr is growing fast. We are predominantly based in the UK but have recently established a Canadian entity and relocated three employees to work from our new office in Toronto. This role will join this new Toronto team and be integral to building our international presence and providing excellent customer service in a wider time-zone

About the role
As a senior engineer you will be an integral part of the team. You will gain exposure to working with a large range of tools and will need to able to work in a fast-paced startup environment that deploys production changes several times a day. You will be helping maintain a large amount of production hosting services both in-house and externally to paying partners accounts. You will have the freedom to look for ways to reduce manual processes and improve overall efficiency to our hosting services.
Responsibilities

- Take ownership of our ever-growing multi cloud/multi region hosting services.
- Come up with fresh ideas around improving efficiencies and security within the business and to our external partners.
- Put in place and maintaining best practices around monitoring and alerts to our hosting services.
- Provide technical support to other departments both internally and to external partners. On some occasions you be required to speak with external partners IT departments.
- Configure and apply regular security patching and maintenance within agreed SLAs both within AWS And Azure.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues, identifying root cause and implementing effective solutions.
Required skills
- 5+ years hands-on DevOps experience in using the AWS cloud platform.
- Solid demonstratable experience in networking and best practices on securing those networks.
- Expert in Terraform or similar infrastructure as code tooling.
- Proficiency with scripting and/or coding languages such as python or c#.
- Experience in code CI/CD tooling (Jenkins and Octopus deploy would be a bonus).
- Ability to identify optimisations in platform performance and overall efficiency.
- Proficiency with the Windows and Linux operating systems and experience with setup and management of both systems.
- Excellent knowledge of Git.
- An organized and methodical approach.
- Strong multi-tasking and communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable skills
- Containerisation technologies with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience in using security tooling such as OWASP, Tenable or SonarQube.
- Knowledge of a secondary cloud service such as Azure or GCP.
