With any product there are obvious well-loved features, they are tried and tested. But what about the unsung heroes or overlooked ones that pack a real punch. We go through some of Cyclr’s lesser known integration platform features and how they help to make workflows more dynamic and customisable with additional functionality.
Integration Platform Feature: Custom Object Method Categories
When building integration templates, you typically work with standard objects like items, contacts or order lists. But what if your integration needs to let the end user choose their own custom object? For example, an end user could select their own custom object, such as a Salesforce custom object, and inject it into a Pinecone Vector Database.
That’s exactly where custom object method categories come in. When users install an integration through the Cyclr embedded marketplace, they can select their custom objects and define field mappings. From there, the integration template automatically installs into their account and runs with the chosen custom object. This enables cycler to make your integrations flexible, scalable and ready to launch you.
Integration Platform Features: Entity Cross Reference Storage
Need to sync data between two systems, like your CRM and ERP, but don’t have a place to manage external keys or mapping tables. That’s where entity cross reference storage steps in.
This allows you to create, retrieve and maintain cross references directly inside Cyclr, keeping your systems aligned without duplication. Best of all, it simplifies integration without requiring extra configuration in your customer’s software account.
Integration Platform Feature: Cross Updating Preventer
Many integrations are triggered when details of an updated record in one application are sent to another application in order to keep the data synchronized. For example, updating item data from QuickBooks to Shopify.
There are occasions when this process needs to be bidirectional, like updating item data from Shopify back to QuickBooks. This could result in an infinite cross updating loop where QuickBooks updates Shopify, which causes Shopify to update QuickBooks, and the loop continues. That’s where the Cross Updating Preventer comes in. It’s designed to stop these back and forth loops, ensuring an inbound update doesn’t trigger a redundant outbound update.
Integration Platform Feature: Embedded Marketplace
With Cyclr’s embedded iPaaS, you can create this entire customer facing integration process using our out-of-the-box connectors and embedded marketplace. The marketplace can be configured to cover different integration categories. Within the knowledge injection category, the end user simply selects the data source they want to connect.
For instance, if they choose SFTP, they just enter the host, URL, username, private key, passphrase and timezone to complete authentication. Once that’s done, they choose the folder they’d like to extract data from. In this case, it is PDF files. From there, the integration installs itself and runs automatically.
Integration Platform Features: Sub Workflow Management
Integrating Shopify sales orders into QuickBooks invoices might seem straightforward, but it can actually get pretty complex. The main challenge comes from mapping all the right fields and keeping customers’ items and even other master data in sync. Cyclr’s Utility Connector allows you to set up event triggers, these are generic forms or link templates to quickly build integration workflows, module by module. This makes the entire process much simpler and a lot easier to manage.
In a workflow it works once updated orders are loaded, the system passes the customer data to a sub workflow within the customer module. There it fetches the Shopify customer ID, maps, checks it and returns the corresponding QuickBooks customer dataset to the main flow next. Once the invoice body is created or updated, it passes data to another sub workflow for item management.
This sub workflow ensures items are properly synchronized and updates the line items accordingly. The best part is that the customer management sub workflow is reusable. You can apply it to other flows across different transactions, saving time and keeping everything consistent.
